SACPEP is a database management system created for IBM microcomputers and compatible machines using the Clipper language SUMMER'87. This system generates and works with four particular databases of each enterprise and a general one having the information of 32 pasture species and varieties with the fundamental requirements. Grassland informations are not only controlled, but agricultural recommendations according to the soils and improved pastures are made by the system as well. Appropriate animal quantities and stocking rates per area is also recommended by the system. It also offers regionalization of species and varieties more adapted to their edaphoclimatical conditions. Using this system we may increase efficiency of agricultural work in livestock enterprises, because not only it gives speed in control and information of the state of pasture areas; but gives decisions that may be applied or validated if it is required. Besides, the system helps us to prevent deterioration of swards because we can know the situation of each paddock and unit area.
