An experiment was carried out in order to know the adequated hormonal combinations to regenerate plants from callus in Stylosanthes guianensis cv. CIAT 184. The explants were sections of hypocotyls, cotyledons and mature leaflets of 5 mm2, which were cultured on MS salts containing vitamins as in B5 medium, supplemented by various concentrations of ANA, 2,4-D and 6-BAP. In general the best results in the callogenesis were obtained in the cotyledon explants The beat response in the regeneration was obtained subculturing with 0,05 mfr/1 of 6-BAP from me callus induced with ANA; while the callus formed with 2,4-D regenerated with 3 mg/l of 6-BAP plus 0,01 mg/'l of ANA. The organogenesis in this cultivar was obtained when me auxin/citokinin ration was less than one even for the desdifferentiation than for differentiation.
