Abstract

A plant regeneration work has been carried out from tissues culture in guinea grass. Callus from apical meristematic tissues in cv. Likoni were used. These callus were obtained in a nutritivo Murashige and Skoog medium which was supplemented with 3 mg of 2,4 diclorophenoxiacetic acid per liter and coconut water at 10%. The callus were moved to a MS medium with Kinetine having different concentrations (0,1-0,4 mg/l) and to a MS medium supplemented with Indol Acetic Acid (0,1-0,3 mg/l). Seedlings were only regenerated in the medium containing 0,3 and 0,4 mg of Kinetine per liter, but in this last with less proportion. The use of 0,3 mg of Kinetine per liter for plants regeneration from tissues in this cultivar, is recommended. Investigations of morphogenesis from other vegetable tissues under our conditions are suggested.
